Healing is for You!

Christians in many ways have begun to accept things in their bodies that Jesus paid for at the cross. In 1 Corinthians 11:29 “…not discerning the Lord’s body.”Paul talks about rightly discerning the Lord’s Body, that is what this page is dedicated to looking at that Body and what Jesus paid for all of us. Divine Healing or God provided Healing is not a new concept, or only a New Testament concept. If you look in the Bible all the way back in Exodus 15:26 “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I [am] the LORD who heals you”God promised the Israelites that if they would obey Him they would be disease free. In Numbers 21:5-9  “And the people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For [there is] no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.” So the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD that He take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery [serpent], and set it on a pole;and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.” So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.”the Israelites were grumbling against God and walking in disobedience, but God gave them away to be freed from their sin and to be healed. He told Moses to make a bronze serpent and lift it up and all they looked to it would be healed. Seems like a simple thing to do to receive healing, but that’s the way God does things. We try to make things so hard that they become unattainable in our minds.
God also provided healing for you and I in our lives today, and again it is such a simple plan that we have a hard time receiving it because it is to easy. Isaiah 53:4-5 says this: “Surely He has borne our grief’s, And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,  And by His stripes we are healed.”Here in Isaiah it is telling of things to come after Jesus is crucified and raised from the dead. In 2 Peter 2:24 “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed.” It does not say maybe healed or might be healed it says we were healed, past tense.

If I go down to the saddle shop and pay for a saddle, and were to come over to your house and tell you that all you had to do, is go down and pick up that saddle and it was yours, you have a choice to make. That choice right now in your mind seems pretty simple. Do I go down and get the saddle, or do I just let it sit there and wish I had it? Often, when we need healing, we might say or wish that God would heal me. Oh God would you please heal me. God why won’t you heal me? We just read where it says by His stripes I was healed!

Lets look at Mark 11:22-23 “So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”Jesus said to receive, “Have faith in God.” Let’s stop there for a minute and look at the meaning of faith, because that can be the stumbling block to our receiving.

In the Greek, the New Testament was written in the meaning of faith was this; Conviction, confidence, trustworthiness, and persuasion.

The Strong’s says in the New Testament, setting faith is the divinely implanted principle of inward confidence, assurance, trust, and reliance in God and all that He says. Many times where believers go wrong is the faith comes from their ability,it doesn’t say that at all. The ability has already been furnished by God.All I must do is accept it, my confidence is in God not me. Faith means confidence. Worrel’s Translation says it this way “Have the Faith of God”.  That makes it easier to receive, can you see God doubting? If I apply the faith of God then it becomes easy to see the answer.

Back now to Mark and what Jesus was saying “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast in to the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things that he says will be done, he will have what ever he says”. Did you ever take these verses and try to apply them in a way that you knew wasn’t God’s will or intended use for them? What you do when you try the Word in a place that we know is not God’s will, is that we set ourselves up to fail, when we fail we hurt our faith.

It is God’swill for His people to walk in Divine Health! When the enemy try’s to put sickness on God’s people they don’t need to ask if it is His will, or pray” God heal me”. We have the God given right to speak to that sickness, that it be removed and this is what will happen. Look at I John 5:14-15“Now this is the confidence that we have in HIM, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we KNOW that we have the petitions that we have ask of Him.” John did not say we might have them, he said this is the confidence that we have in HIM. or this is the FAITH that we have in GOD.

We have the God given right, God paid for our right to walk in complete and total heath. If God paid for it and God then gave it to us, then it IS His Will for us to have it.

It is just as simple as going down to pick up that already paid for saddle, just go and get it. See if I go get that saddle and don’t believe that it’s out in the tack room, all I have to do is go out and look at it, then I can see I do have possession of it. With healing all I have to do is look in The Word and I can see that I have possession of it. I’ll finish with this Romans 10:17 says “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by The Word of God.” So faith or confidence, comes by going and looking, and seeing that you DO have the right to possess DIVINE HEALTH and so you see you do have the right to be healed.

Worship and What It Means to Me

Ever been in a church service somewhere where you felt like they really don’t worship right? The drums are too loud, piano is off, the singers are not singing in time, the person next to me can’t clap and sing at the same time so they shouldn’t try. I probably just described about what some of ya’ll experience with worship somewhere if not at you own church every week. So let’s try to fix that.

We are going to look at what Jesus said about worship in John 4:23-24 (NLT) But the time is coming-indeed it’s here now-when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” Let’s break down what He said here so we can better understand what true worship is. First we’ll take the word worship the meaning is  (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master’s hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literal or figurative) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore) :- worship.-Strong’s Greek & Hebrew Dictionary  It is used of an act of homage or reverence (a) to God,-Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words.

When you take the literal meaning of ‘like a dog licking his master’s hand’, you realize that when your looking at anyone else you are not look at The Master and worship is about Him. Another thing that Jesus said is the ‘True Worshipper’, so let’s look at the meaning of a true worshipper for a minute. This reference in John is the only place that is used and it means  an adorer -Strong’s Greek & Hebrew Dictionary and Vine’s says that it also means‘Temple Keeper’.

Here at Cowboy Church we believe that no matter who is leading worship, who is singing, or who is playing that it is our responsibility to enter into worship of our Father. We try to have a country beat, sing things that everyone likes but know that it is up to us each one for our worship of the one and only God!

Come and join us you can dance before the Lord, clap, stand up, sit down or run the isles. It is your worship to the most Awesome Father!

When you are praying, do you ever feel like you’re just howling at the moon and the wind is blowing so no one can hear you anyway? Our prayer life is very important as to how we receive the answer to each one of our requests, petitions, and things that we are just talking to our Father in heaven about. So let’s look at what prayer is and what it is not, so we can be more productive and better equipped in our prayer life.

In the Message translation of the Bible Matthew 6:14-15 says,”In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.”

How important is your position when you pray? Is one way heard better by God than another position? In one instance in the New Testament I found that Jesus knelt down in prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. Your prayer position should be related to the circumstance surrounding your reason for this time of prayer, as well as where you are and what position is appropriate for that place.

When should I pray? Look at what it says in 1 Thessalonians5:16-18. The next question we ask many times is how should I pray? Many times we are praying for things that already ours and these things become a position of authority instead of a place of prayer or asking for something. Some examples of those places of authority from the New Testament are found in: Mark 1:35; Luke 14:21; Luke 5:16; Luke 9:28-31.

“Prayed” is found 28 times in the NT; “Pray” 57 times (Matthew5:44; Mark 14:38); and “Prayer” 29 times. “Speak to” or “say” is used 300 times. There are things that we are still praying for that are a position of authority. As we learn God’s word we are better able to understand our place of authority and apply it. (Mark 5:8; Mark 2:1-11;Mark 3:3-5; John 11:41-44.)

Prayer is:

  1. Our need crying out for help.
  2. The voice of faith to the Father.
  3. The Living Word in lips of faith.
  4. Holding God’s Word up to Him like a mirror. You are asking Him to act on that Word. He sees Himself in that Word.

God has honored His Son by calling Him “The Word”. (John1:1-4; 1 John 5:20; Revelation 19:11-16.) What we need to understand is: if it was important to God the Father to honor Jesus His Son by calling Him the Word, then we need to have an intimate relationship with Him if we want our prayers answered and the things that we speak to come to pass.

When I should pray and for how long do I pray? (1Thessalonians 5:16-18). Ephesians 6:18: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” –The AMP says it this way, “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).”

Let’s look at what Jesus said about prayer. In Luke 18:1(KJV): “And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” Not faint means from the Greek “beweary, 1) to be utterly spiritless, to be wearied out, exhausted.” Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit. The Amplified says it this way: “Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).” Another translation says this “Men ought always to pray and not turn out badly”and still one more says it this way “Men ought always to pray and not cave in.”

Prayer illuminates the Word; the Word is the Son. It causes us to have a closer relationship with the Word and in so doing it causes those things that the Word did for us to come to pass in our lives. It is a spiritual experience to have a constant prayer life. You should pray from your spirit not from your head. Don’t just pray in the spirit, but pray from your spirit.

E.W. Kenyon lived from 1867-1948 and said this: “Electricity has made the wireless and the radio realities. Will that life in the mechanical world be stronger, more efficacious than God’s Nature in our spirits? I can not believe it.” He had no idea that electricity would become what it is today and maybe even replaces our prayer life because we are too busy in front of the television, out in our shop, or maybe even on the internet.

Though prayer we become so completely ruled and governed by the Word and by the Holy Spirit that we become the masters of demons and their work. We cast out demons with the Word. We lay hands on the sick and sickness and diseases leave them. Weakness is destroyed by the strength of God. The very life of God and the very nature of God goes out from our lips. What happens is that praying always causes us to cooperate with Him. God through you is ruling over demons and evil forces all over the world. You become His voice in the Name of Jesus. The Word really becomes the Sword of the Spirit and wages war against the demonic forces that rule men in this world.

Look at these last couple of references and see how important it is for us to understand who we are and what our Father’s plan for us here is. You can see that it is not His plan for the devil to kick us around but instead for us to kick him all over the place. It is not just our right to take that place but it is our obligation to do it.

2 Corinthians 6:1 says, “We then, [as] workers together [with Him] also plead with [you] not to receive the grace of God in vain.”

2 Corinthians 5:20 says, “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore [you] on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.” The Amplified says it this way: “So we are Christ’s ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ’s personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God.”

So, remember your prayer life is very important and not justfor your needs. People’s lives depend on you! So stay ready; don’t waitfor that need in someone’s life to come up but be prepared when you getthere!

What is Cowboy Church?

Cowboy Church provides interdenominational services for all that come.We are no exception; church is for all that come. Music is fast paced and faith filled. Some of the music here is country and western, and some is more contemporary. Our statement is ‘Silverado Cowboy Church where Jesus is the King of Cowboys and everyone is welcome’. That is just how we have church: there are people that come from every walk of life. There are rodeo cowboys here; team ropers; calfropers; cutters; reiners; ranch cowboys. Here at SCC we also have bikers and people that do not have anything to do with the cowboy or the biker lifestyle. When we say that everyone is welcome, we mean everyone!

We have an arena here for the church family to play in. Family works like this: the first time you come you’re a visitor, second time you come (if you have accepted Jesus as your Savior at any time during your life) you’re part of the family. Here at Cowboy Church, it is also part of the vision of having a full rodeo arena to have Rodeo Bible Camps, Team Roping Clinics, Cutting Clinics, and Seminars on proper horse care. We will be using professionals in each of the specialized areas to teach these clinics. At Rodeo Bible Camps we will include all rodeo events, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bulldogging (steer wrestling), calf roping, team roping, barrel racing, steer tripping and of course bull riding which would also include steer riding for the younger ones.

So saddle up and ride with us no matter what your pleasure is.
