What’s wrong with Halloween?
Here at Silverado Cowboy Church we do not celebrate Halloween. Holidays are times to celebrate and remember. They are usually times of enjoyment with family and friends. Holidays almost always have special meaning, birthdays, a day to celebrate your birth, Christmas, a day to celebrate Jesus birth, Resurrection Sunday, a day to celebrate Christ’s resurrection from the dead, and Thanksgiving, a day to thank God for His love and care.
Unfortunately there is one day that many people consider a holiday that ignores God completely, Halloween (The Day of the Dead). Many people view this day as a harmless day where children dress up in costumes and go door to door asking for candy, but there are others who take this day very seriously. To some Halloween is truly a holy day because they set it aside to worship the devil. Satan hates God and wants to hurt God’s people. It should make Christians very sad that so many people want to celebrate a day which was meant to give God’s enemy and hellish things glory.
Set aside October 31st as a day to pray for all those who are still trapped by Satan’s lies. Don’t help support a day which is based on bad things.
Romans 12:21 says, ‘Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.’ Even when every one else is doing things that are not good, we need to stand up for what is right. Don’t let Satan have the victory on October 31st.
